How to use these words in your C1 exam
- In Schreiben (writing): Words like signifikant, substanziell, kontrovers, Perspektive, Kontext and Transparenz elevate a B2 essay to C1 instantly. Replace simple words: instead of “wichtig” try “signifikant” or “fundamental”.
- In Sprechen (speaking): Use Motivation, Identität, Diversität, Kompetenz and innovativ when giving your Präsentation. They signal academic register without extra effort.
- Adjectives ending in -iv: A golden pattern — progressiv, konstruktiv, innovativ, intensiv. English “-ive” → German “-iv”. Learn the pattern, not just the word.
- Nouns ending in -ität: Another reliable pattern — Solidarität, Transparenz, Identität, Produktivität. English “-ity” or “-ance” → German “-ität” or “-enz”.
